The Vandenberg Has Arrived!
The Vandenberg Has Arrived!
The USNS General Hoyt S.Vandenberg arrived in Key West the
morning of April 22, 2009 and was sunk with much fanfare on May 27.
She rests in 140 feet of water, with her superstructure rising to
within 40 feet of the surface.

The Vandenberg was opened to recreational divers on May 30th.  Here
are some photos I've taken since then.

The entire ship is accessible to divers, depending on individual
experience and skill level.

Now's the perfect time to refresh your diving skills, especially for
deeper diving.

The PADI Advanced Open Water course introduces you to diving as
deep as 100 feet.

The PADI Deep Diving Specialty course prepares you safely dive to the
recreational dive limit of 130 feet.

The PADI Wreck Diving Specialty course is an introduction to wreck
diving and is designed to help the student diver develop the skills and
knowledge necessary for safe wreck diving.

Please see our recommendations on
avoiding decompression sickness
when diving the Vandenberg.
