Underwater Digital Photography
I've been taking underwater photographs since 1988, when I
bought a Nikonos V, a Nikon SB-105 stobe and the Nikonos close-
up kit.  I eventually decided to switch to digital photography, and
in May 2003 I purchased a Nikon Coolpix 5000 and a Light &
Motion Tetra housing.  I used used a single  SB-105 strobe (from
my old Nikonos V) and an Infinity strobe arm.  In October 2003,
I added a Light & Motion Wetmate Ultra Wide-Angle lens.  For
night dives, I used two Princeton Tec 40 lights for aiming/focus.

In late May 2007 I upgraded my still photo system to a Nikon D-
80 in a Sea & Sea DX D-80 housing; lighting was with my trusty
SB-105 strobe.  Initially I expected to shoot mostly with the
Nikkor 60mm macro lens, but in late July 2007 I added a Tokina
10-17mm fisheye zoom lens.  In a word, the new camera, housing,
lens combination is awesome!  In November 2007 I added an Inon
Z240 strobe with TLC arms.  In May 2008, I added the Nikkor
105mm VR macro lens with an Athena macro port and an additional
Inon Z240 strobe; I have retired my SB-105.  In June 2011, I
added a Zen DP-100 dome port for my fisheye zoom.  I'm steadily
incorporating new images into the existing gallery pages.

I highly recommend Jack & Sue Drafahl’s Digital Imaging for the
Underwater Photographer
– it’s an excellent book on how to work
with your digital images.  Another excellent book is Michael Aw's
An Essential Guide to Digital Underwater Photography.
